Software Tester
Pragma is looking for a Software Tester to join its R&D team.
Quality Engineers are responsible for ensuring that software products are released with a high level of quality.
The Software Quality Engineer monitors the various phases of the software development process to ensure design quality and that software products adhere to the standards established by the development department.
Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
A tertiary qualification in a relevant IT-related degree or diploma is preferable
At least 2 years' professional experience in a related role, such as software testing
Experience in both functional and non-functional testing
Demonstrable experience in manual and/or automated Quality Assurance (QA)
Experience working in a continuous delivery environment will be advantageous
Strong technical skills and the ability to test software without a user interface, including APIs
A QA-related Test Management certification, such as ISTQB Foundation, is preferred
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with management and colleagues at different levels
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Experience working with teams using an Agile methodology
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
Strong analytical skills, particularly when analysing requirements
Experience writing and debugging code
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Testing software to ensure quality and functionality
Performing maintenance and support of existing systems
Participating in the software release process
Continuously developing knowledge of new QA tools and relevant technologies
Actively participating in the Scrum process
Supporting quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Identifying and analysing software issues and potential defects
Contributing to continuous improvement of testing processes

Technical understanding of software systems and APIs
Knowledge of manual and automated testing practices
Good understanding of Agile and Scrum environments
