About the Opportunity
FlySafair is looking for a Warehouse General Assistant to support its warehouse, receiving, dispatch and inventory operations in Gauteng.
The successful candidate will assist with stock handling, verification, organisation, housekeeping and general warehouse activities while ensuring that all safety and stock-handling procedures are followed.
This opportunity is suitable for individuals who are physically fit, reliable and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Assisting Receiving Inspectors with the processing of outstanding DNU (Do Not Use) stock
Segregating stock as directed to ensure items are appropriately separated and identified
Assisting with the physical verification of stock quantities against relevant documentation
Preparing and matching Certificates of Conformance (C of C) to applicable parts
Identifying and separating parts where a C of C is unavailable and referring these to the responsible person
Handling parts carefully to prevent damage, loss or incorrect allocation
Assisting the Dispatch team with organising and cleaning the mezzanine and designated warehouse areas
Assisting with the movement and organisation of stock as required
Supporting general housekeeping activities
Maintaining a clean, safe and orderly working environment
Assisting the Inventory team with the physical movement of stock
Packing and placing stock in the correct racks and designated storage locations
Sorting and organising stock to support effective inventory management
Reporting stock discrepancies, damaged items or incorrectly stored stock
Following warehouse, safety and stock-handling procedures
Using warehouse equipment and resources responsibly
Maintaining good housekeeping standards
Performing other reasonable warehouse-related duties as instructed
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent (Essential)
Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, logistics or stock-handling environment (Advantageous)
Physically fit and able to safely lift and handle items weighing 20–25 kg without assistance (Essential)
Willing and able to work weekends when required
Must have reliable transport
