Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant to join the team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will assist with inventory management, warehouse operations, stock control and ensuring that warehouse standards and procedures are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Move inventory and materials across facilities.

  • Process inventory for delivery.

  • Sort, organise and store inventory in the correct locations.

  • Package items and ensure they are labelled correctly.

  • Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors.

  • Stack and organise large bulk items.

  • Update logs and documentation relating to inventory processing.

  • Direct and conduct routine warehouse cleaning tasks.

  • Monitor and manage inventory control.

  • Perform warehouse inventory controls and maintain high-quality standards for audits.

  • Handle delicate and sensitive products with utmost care to prevent damage.

  • Operate the necessary tools and accessories used in maintaining and managing the warehouse in accordance with SOPs.

  • Follow quality service standards and comply with all procedures, rules and regulations.

  • Perform daily cycle counts.

  • Work with the Inventory Clerk to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent — Essential.

  • Warehouse Training certification — Advantageous.

  • Dangerous Goods and Aircraft Spares Packing certifications — Advantageous.

  • 1–2 years' administration experience in a mid-sized organisation — Essential.

  • Willingness to work overtime when required.

  • Willingness to work 24-hour shifts — Essential.

  • Knowledge of warehousing standards.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems — Advantageous.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
