Position Overview
We are looking for a Cashbook Clerk to join our finance team in Randfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate cashbook records, performing bank reconciliations, allocating payments, assisting with audits and supporting the finance team with various accounting-related duties.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the daily cashbook.
Perform bank statement reconciliations.
Allocate direct payments to debtors.
Allocate EFT payments from cash customers.
Log queries with FNB regarding unidentified deposits.
Log queries with FNB regarding outstanding deposits.
Follow up with FNB or Cash Connect regarding shortages and surpluses reflected on bank statements.
Assist with audit and compliance requirements relating to bank reconciliations.
Maintain a proper filing system for all financial documentation.
Perform fuel log reconciliations when truck fuel cards are not working.
Process and receipt purchase orders (POs).
Support the Bookkeeper with the preparation of Bread & Returns reconciliations.
Perform other ad hoc duties as requested by management.
Key Attributes & Competencies
Knowledge of financial processes and bank reconciliations.
Familiarity with financial systems and software such as Mozaic and MS Office.
Innovative, self-driven and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong numerical skills and high accuracy in data entry.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements
Matric.
Accounting qualification.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Advantageous
2–3 years' experience working in a finance environment.
