Job Description
Job Purpose
Nedbank is looking for a Service Consultant to provide excellent client service by educating clients on the convenience, security and functionality of digital and self-service solutions.
The successful candidate will also process cash transactions, perform cash balancing and replenishment, and provide first-line device maintenance to meet business objectives and exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement
Address concerns relating to queue flow and digital devices.
Assist clients with downloading online applications and resolving login issues.
Assist clients with purchasing value-added services such as prepaid data and airtime.
Assist clients in obtaining statements, cards and other relevant documentation from self-service areas.
Build and maintain strong client relationships by keeping clients informed of progress on applications, queries and requests.
Identify client service and digital needs and provide appropriate financial solutions.
Educate clients and potential clients on subscribing to and servicing their accounts.
Educate clients on self-service solutions, digital functionality and available features.
Assist clients in completing their service requirements through online and digital channels.
Identify quality sales leads and support cross-selling by making suggestions and referring clients to the relevant department.
Meet, greet and establish client needs while verifying documentation and directing clients appropriately.
Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Take ownership of client requests from start to finish and refer clients for alternative intervention where required.
Provide professional and knowledgeable client service that builds trust and confidence.
Business Operations
Process and service cash transactions over the counter.
Complete daily control checklists applicable to teller, enquiries and foreign exchange functions.
Balance and secure branch stock holdings, including cards.
Manage the queuing process and prioritise clients with special needs.
Destroy obsolete stock identified through relevant reports.
Prepare transactional documents and originals required for further processing of inter-bank transfers.
Ensure ATM and ID availability by balancing and loading cash and attending to devices requiring first-line maintenance.
Implement cash management, cash efficiency and recycling strategies.
Load and balance cash in store devices and replenish consumables where required.
Minimise financial losses by identifying and reporting discrepancies in cash holdings and ensuring corrective action is taken.
Process client deposits, withdrawals, change-for-change and transfer requests according to relevant policies and procedures.
Process foreign exchange requests in accordance with applicable procedures and policies.
Risk and Compliance
Mitigate operational risk by managing counter and drop-safe limits according to policy.
Prevent fraud and financial losses by adhering to mandates, client authentication requirements and transaction verification procedures.
Comply with Nedbank's security, operational, governance and risk procedures.

Qualifications
Preferred Qualification
Banking Services qualification, such as a Higher Certificate in Banking Services (NQF Level 5).
Essential Qualification
Diploma.
NQF Level qualification as required for the position.
Experience Required
1–2 years' experience in retail or banking client service.
Experience in cash handling.
Technology-savvy with the ability to assist clients with digital solutions.
Experience in first-line problem resolution.
Foreign experience may be considered where applicable.
