JOB PURPOSE
To provide effective cleaning and housekeeping services within departmental offices and facilities, while ensuring that a clean, safe and hygienic working environment is maintained.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Clean offices, corridors, elevators and boardrooms.
Clean and maintain general kitchens.
Clean and maintain restrooms and ablution facilities.
Safekeep and maintain cleaning materials, supplies and equipment.
Report broken or damaged cleaning machines and equipment.
Request cleaning materials and supplies when required.
Clean walls, windows, doors and other designated areas.
Empty and clean dustbins.
Replace toilet paper, hand towels and air fresheners/refreshers.
Ensure that cleaning equipment and materials are stored safely after use.
Comply with relevant health and safety procedures when performing cleaning duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
NQF Level 1 / Grade 9, including AET/ABET Level 4 certificate, obtained from a recognised institution of Basic Education.
Certificate(s) of training in cleaning services will be an added advantage.

The successful candidate should have knowledge and understanding of:
Cleaning procedures and practices.
Operation and basic care of cleaning equipment.
Occupational health and safety procedures.
Good interpersonal relationships.
Effective communication skills.
Organising and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
