Job Purpose
The Department of Social Development has an opportunity for a self-motivated and competent individual to provide administrative support services.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or equivalent qualification.
Key Performance Areas
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Providing general administrative support.
Recording, organising, capturing and retrieving correspondence and data.
Updating registers and statistics.
Handling routine enquiries.
Receiving and sending correspondence and documents.
Maintaining the filing system.
Typing letters and other correspondence when required.
Maintaining incoming and outgoing document registers.
Providing supply chain and procurement support.
Assisting with stationery and asset control.
Maintaining leave, attendance and personnel records.
Arranging travel and accommodation.
Capturing and updating expenditure.
Checking subsistence and travel claims.
Assisting with telephone accounts and petty cash.
Competencies
Applicants should have:
Knowledge of clerical duties and data capturing.
Knowledge of computer operations and collecting statistics.
Understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
Numeracy and literacy skills.
Computer literacy.
Good written and verbal communication skills.

Salary
R237,453 – R279,708 per annum (Salary Level 5).

Important Information
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an interview and submit documents for verification and criminal record vetting.
Shortlisted candidates will also complete two pre-entry assessments:
A practical exercise to assess suitability for the position.
An integrity assessment relating to ethical conduct.
The selection process will be guided by the Employment Equity targets of the department.
