Job Description
Catalyst Hotel is seeking a professional and customer-focused Receptionist to join our Front Office team. As the first point of contact for guests, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience from arrival to departure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for guest check-ins and check-outs, reservations management, customer service, and providing information about hotel facilities, amenities, rates, activities, and local attractions. You will also assist with administrative duties, guest relations, and ensure smooth front-office operations.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field will be advantageous.
Experience
1–3 years’ experience in hotel reservations, front office operations, or a similar hospitality environment.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS), particularly Opera Cloud.
Experience using customer support and channel management systems such as FreshDesk.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Key Responsibilities
Perform all late check-in and early check-out procedures.
Complete the hotel End-of-Day process and generate relevant financial reports.
Manage online and telephonic reservations in coordination with Central Reservations.
Inform guests about payment methods and verify payment details.
Collect and maintain accurate guest information, including identification and contact details.
Monitor and resolve outstanding guest account discrepancies.
Allocate rooms to guests and assist with room planning.
Handle guest queries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
Liaise with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are clean, prepared, and meet guest requirements.
Confirm group bookings and coordinate personalized services for VIP guests.
Promote and upsell hotel facilities and services.
Maintain accurate booking, payment, and guest records.
Arrange transport services upon guest request.
Assist the Night Auditor with audit preparation.
Monitor guest reviews and include relevant feedback in daily briefings.
Attend to after-hours guest requests and emergencies.
Work closely with Security to ensure the safety of guests and hotel property.
