Position Purpose
Transnet Freight Rail invites unemployed South African graduates between the ages of 18 and 35 to apply for its 12–18 month internship programme. The programme provides both structured learning and practical workplace experience, enabling graduates to apply their academic knowledge in a professional environment while developing industry-relevant skills.
The internship aims to improve employability through hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to real-world business operations.
This opportunity is open to students from registered TVET Colleges and Higher Education Institutions who:
- Have completed all theoretical training.
- Have no bursary obligations.
- Have no prior work experience in their field of study.
Position Outputs
Successful candidates will receive workplace exposure and practical training in various operational areas, including:
- Ermelo
- Witbank
- Richards Bay
- Bellville
- Belcon
Required Documents

- Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified copy of Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
- Certified copy of qualification or statement of results in Office Management or Office Administration
- Stamped letter from institution requesting in-service training (where applicable)
- Stamped confirmation letter of theory completion from institution
- Certified copy of South African Identity Document
- Proof of residential address
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements
- Qualification in Office Management or Office Administration.
- South African citizenship.
- Age between 18 and 35 years.
- Completion of all theoretical studies.
- No prior work experience required.

- Successful applicants will undergo a recruitment and placement process before being assigned to various depots and departments within TFR.
