Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to ensure the safe, timely and efficient delivery of products from the Premier Durban Wheat Mill.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Ensuring company trucks are neat, clean and maintained to the required standard.
Reporting all incidents and accidents to management promptly.
Ensuring all Proof of Deliveries (PODs) are correctly signed, stamped and accounted for.
Maintaining fuel consumption within company targets.
Monitoring the loading and offloading of all stock and ensuring 100% accuracy.
Monitoring the loading and offloading of all CHEP pallets and ensuring 100% accuracy.
Completing daily vehicle inspection checklists.
Reporting vehicle defects and ensuring checklists are properly signed and submitted to the Fleet Controller or Supervisor.
Maintaining proper document control, including PODs, fuel slips, toll slips and trip sheets.
Managing and supervising the two crew members assigned to the truck.
Following all company procedures relating to transport, safety, stock and vehicle management.
Minimum Requirements
Matric / Grade 12.
2–3 years’ experience in a similar heavy-vehicle driving role.
Valid Code 14 driver’s licence.
Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
The driver is responsible for ensuring that the PDP is renewed on time each year.
