Packaging Operator Job Opportunity
AB InBev is looking for a Packaging Operator to join the team at Newlands Brewery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the packaging process to achieve consistent product quality and maximum production throughput while minimising waste.
This is an opportunity for a motivated individual with packaging-process experience who can work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and contribute to a strong team culture.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Packaging Process Operation
Operate the packaging process safely and efficiently.
Start up, operate and shut down packaging machinery.
Monitor machine performance and production processes.
Manage waste generated during the packaging process.
Perform brand and packaging changes when required.
Monitor production inputs and process performance.
Take appropriate corrective action when processes fall outside required standards.
Quality & Production
Conduct required quality checks.
Maintain consistent product quality.
Monitor production performance and identify process deviations.
Work towards achieving maximum throughput while minimising waste.
Ensure packaging processes are operated according to required standards and procedures.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Conduct in-depth cleaning of equipment and work areas.
Perform first-level maintenance where required.
Identify equipment or process issues and report/escalate them appropriately.
Maintain a safe, clean and healthy working environment.
Teamwork & Communication
Participate actively as a member of the production team.
Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Contribute to problem-solving activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the packaging environment.
