Premier FMCG is looking for a Clerk: Admin Relief to join its team at Blue Ribbon Durban.

The successful candidate will assist with and provide relief across various administrative and finance functions, including Cashiers, Reconciling, Creditors, Value Chain, Debtors and POD Clerk responsibilities.

This role is suited to an organised and adaptable individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and high-performance environment.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to assist with and fulfil the responsibilities of various administrative and financial positions when required, including:

  • Cashiers

  • Reconciling

  • Creditors Clerk

  • Value Chain

  • Debtors Clerk

  • POD Clerk

The successful candidate must be flexible and able to provide relief when employees are absent or unavailable.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

PODs, Claims & Driver Administration

  • Process PODs and claims.

  • Reconcile drivers and ensure accounts are balanced daily.

  • Conduct driver debriefs.

  • Assist with related administrative functions.

Creditors & Financial Administration

  • Process Purchase Orders (POs).

  • Process Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs).

  • Process invoices for payment.

  • Balance and clear ICO transactions.

  • File and maintain relevant documents.

Stock & Value Chain

  • Order stock as required.

  • Perform value chain administration.

  • Process value chain reconciliations.

  • Assist with month-end processing.

Cashier & Banking Functions

  • Receive cash and cheques.

  • Provide relief support to cashiers.

  • Process receipts.

  • Perform banking activities.

  • Conduct cash and cheque reconciliations.

General Administration

  • Perform ad hoc administrative functions as required.

  • Provide relief in other roles when employees are sick, absent or otherwise unavailable.

  • Ensure assigned duties are completed accurately and within required deadlines.

  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and business information.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Matric / Grade 12.

  • A certificate or diploma in Accounting will be an advantage.

The successful candidate must be willing and able to:

  • Work in a team environment.

  • Work additional hours when required and at management's discretion.

  • Work during month-end and financial year-end periods.

  • Work over weekends when required.

  • Work shifts.

  • Work a 6-day position.

  • Provide relief support across other roles when required.
