Job Description
Econofoods, one of South Africa's fastest-growing FMCG retailers specializing in frozen foods, is looking for a Warehouse Stock Assistant to join its Cape Town team based in Airport Industria.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate stock control within the warehouse by ensuring products are correctly stored, labelled, counted, and recorded. This position supports inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and compliance with operational standards while contributing to Econofoods' customer-focused culture.

Purpose of the Role
The Warehouse Stock Assistant is responsible for supporting stock management processes by maintaining accurate bin locations, conducting stock counts, monitoring inventory compliance, and ensuring warehouse records are updated correctly. The role contributes to improved stock visibility, inventory control, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Bin Data Accuracy
Verify the accuracy of products stored within warehouse picking bins.
Ensure the correct products and quantities are placed in designated bin locations.
Monitor bin locations regularly to ensure compliance with warehouse procedures.
Maintain accurate inventory information across storage areas.
Bin Labelling
Create and maintain clear and accurate bin labels.
Ensure labels remain visible, legible, and scannable.
Update the Bin Master Sheet daily.
Submit updated bin information to the Stock Controller for IQ system updates.
Compliance Monitoring
Identify and report stock placement errors and non-compliance issues.
Report unlabeled pallets and inventory discrepancies to the Bulk Controller.
Assist with investigations relating to stock irregularities and camera queries.
Complete and submit daily bin accuracy reports.
Stock Counts and Verification
Conduct daily stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Compare stock count sheets and perform recounts where required.
Identify stock variances and discrepancies.
Submit completed stock count documentation to the Stock Controller for reconciliation.
Safety and Compliance
Adhere to all warehouse safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Ensure compliance with operational and inventory control standards.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
Experience
Minimum of 1–2 years' experience in a warehouse, logistics, or stock control environment.
Experience with inventory counts, receiving, picking, and packing processes will be advantageous.
Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures will be beneficial.
Technical Requirements
Basic computer literacy.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with warehouse management systems will be advantageous.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
