Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and moving materials within the operation. The role ensures accurate stock control, safe handling of goods, and compliance with safety and operational procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / N3 Technical qualification

  • Certificate in Supply Chain or Logistics (NQF Level 4) advantageous

  • 2–3 years’ warehouse or logistics experience

  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP)

  • Code B driver’s licence

  • Forklift / crane / truck licences advantageous

  • Strong understanding of warehouse and inventory processes

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Receive, store, pick, and deliver goods and materials

  • Support inventory movement including RECOs and scrap handling

  • Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counting and bin verification

  • Apply FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles for stock rotation

  • Assist with GRV system queries and documentation

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to SHE policies, MHSA regulations, and safety procedures

  • Participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and SLAMs

  • Report hazards, damages, and discrepancies promptly

  • Maintain a safe and organised working environment using 5S principles

Inventory & Administration

  • Maintain accurate stock records and reports

  • Assist with bin labelling, stock tracking, and reporting variances

  • Ensure proper documentation for approvals and records

  • Support OTIF (On-Time In-Full) receiving and issuing processes

  • Knowledge of warehouse systems and inventory control

  • Teamwork and communication skills
