Purpose of the Role

The Packaging Learner position is designed to develop technical and operational skills within a manufacturing and packaging environment. The role combines classroom learning with hands-on workplace experience while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric) with strong Mathematics and English
Good verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy
Self-motivated and willing to learn
Ability to work in a team environment
No more than 5 years’ experience in packaging/manufacturing (preferred)
Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Key Responsibilities

Learning & Development

Participate in structured classroom training (100% attendance required)
Complete all required Portfolio of Evidence submissions
Participate in workplace assessments and observations
Develop operational skills on key packaging machinery

Production & Operations

Learn and operate packaging and production line machines
Support manufacturing operations and compliance activities
Adhere to safety, quality, and Diageo operational standards
Assist in ensuring efficient production processes

Compliance & Performance

Follow company policies and procedures at all times
Support operational efficiency and continuous improvement
Maintain discipline in attendance and training participation
