Ampath Laboratories is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Learner Technologist to join its Microbiology team in Cape Town. As a Learner Technologist, you will work alongside experienced laboratory professionals, supporting essential laboratory processes while receiving structured mentorship and training. Key Responsibilities
Receive and process laboratory specimens accurately.
Ensure proper recording and documentation of specimens and test information.
Support laboratory operations and workflow processes.
Assist in maintaining laboratory quality standards and best practices.
Contribute to the timely delivery of accurate laboratory results.
Maintain professional relationships with clients and healthcare stakeholders.
Follow laboratory protocols, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
Participate in learning and development activities to build technical expertise.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Applicants must have one of the following qualifications:
National Diploma in Medical Technology (Clinical Pathology), or
Bachelor of Health Science in Medical Laboratory Science.
Professional Registration
Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Learner Medical Technologist is required.
Additional Requirements
Valid South African Code B Driver’s Licence.
Strong interest in pursuing a career in Medical Laboratory Science.
Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
Advantageous
Completion of 12 months of intern rotational training in a training laboratory.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read, write, and speak English and Afrikaans fluently.
