Job Description
Ampath Laboratories is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Branch Administrator to join its Care Centre and Laboratory team in Polokwane. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient administration of branch operations while supporting exceptional patient care and service delivery.

Purpose of the Role
The Branch Administrator is responsible for managing daily administrative functions that support laboratory operations, specimen processing, patient services, and branch efficiency. The role contributes to maintaining a high-performance culture through accurate administration, quality service, and effective coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
Capture and maintain accurate patient and laboratory information.
Prepare, process, and manage administrative documentation.
Maintain organized filing systems and records.
Handle routine correspondence and branch administration.
Ensure information is accurately captured and distributed to relevant stakeholders.
Patient Services
Welcome and assist patients professionally.
Guide patients through requisition and registration processes.
Capture patient information on laboratory information systems.
Conduct medical aid and benefit verification checks.
Respond to patient and stakeholder enquiries professionally.
Assist with account and billing-related queries.
Process cash and card payments accurately.
Generate pro forma invoices where required.
Laboratory Support
Receive and verify specimens against requested tests.
Label, batch, and prepare specimens according to established protocols.
Assist with specimen processing and dispatch requirements.
Ensure laboratory reports are distributed to healthcare professionals and wards promptly.
Support quality assurance and operational compliance procedures.
Operational Excellence
Follow company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive patient information.
Identify potential operational issues and escalate when necessary.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and branch leadership.
Contribute to efficient branch operations and service delivery.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric certificate (essential).
0–4 years of administrative experience.
Experience in a pathology, laboratory, or healthcare environment will be advantageous.
Valid South African Code B driver's licence.
Own reliable transport.
Computer literacy and proficiency in standard office applications.
Ability to work within a fast-paced service environment.
