Debriefer

Purpose of the Role
The Debriefer is responsible for the end-to-end debriefing of returned deliveries—full, partial, and content returns. This includes verifying documentation, scanning and coding parcels in the Freightware system, identifying discrepancies, managing proof of delivery (POD) documentation, and maintaining order in the debriefing area. The role supports overall hub operations and ensures alignment with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Debriefing of Returns:

Verify failed delivery invoices have valid call centre reference numbers and customer endorsements.

Accurately scan, code, and log returned parcels using Freightware.

Manage and document content returns, separating and allocating them per process (Crossdock, bookings, or query cage).

Inspect parcels for damage or shortages, and report discrepancies.

Complete driver reports thoroughly and accurately.
POD Management:

Perform line-by-line POD debriefing in accordance with store requirements.

Record and communicate discrepancies clearly.

Ensure all PODs are matched with delivery manifests and affixed with V-labels.

Coordinate handover to the POD department.
Housekeeping & Shift Conduct:

Clock in upon arrival and wear appropriate uniform.

Maintain cleanliness in the debriefing area:
-
Use pallets for organizing returns.

Separate and label returns/Upliftments properly.
-
Ensure documentation matches each return item.

Compliance & Accuracy:
-
Ensure parcels align with hub floor plan.
-
Cross-check against WIP (Work in Progress) reports.
-
Conduct quality checks on PODs.
General Support:

Assist with other operational tasks as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric)
-
Logistics/Transport qualification OR 2 years of experience in a similar role
