Job Overview
Rand Water is seeking suitably qualified candidates to fill three Protective Services Officer positions within its Bulk Water Services Operations division.
The successful candidates will be responsible for providing professional and high-quality protective services to the Central Depot Station and its satellite pumping stations. The role requires strict compliance with the National Key Point Act (Act No. 102 of 1980), relevant legislation, company policies, and site-specific procedures.
This position is ideal for disciplined and security-conscious individuals who are committed to protecting people, property, and critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Protect Rand Water employees, visitors, property, and assets.
Ensure compliance with security legislation, company policies, and operational procedures.
Monitor and safeguard critical infrastructure and National Key Point facilities.
Conduct security patrols and inspections.
Maintain vigilance and identify potential security threats.
Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
Enforce access control procedures.
Provide professional customer service when interacting with employees, contractors, and visitors.
Assist with investigations and incident reporting when required.
Ensure safe handling and use of firearms in accordance with legal requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Grade 12 / Matric or N3 Certificate.
Professional Registration
PSIRA Grade C Certificate.
Licences and Certifications
Valid Driver’s Licence.
Firearm Competency Certificate for Business Purposes:
Rifle
Handgun
Shotgun
Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar security or protective services environment.
Added Advantage
National Key Point training.
Dog handling training.
Tactical training.
Knowledge Requirements
