Rockefeller Hotel is seeking a professional, friendly, and service-oriented Receptionist to join its Front Office team in Cape Town.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a warm, professional, and efficient welcome to all guests and visitors. As the first point of contact, the Receptionist will play a key role in ensuring a seamless and memorable guest experience from arrival through to departure, while consistently upholding the hotel's high standards of service.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric certificate is required.
Hospitality-related qualification will be advantageous.
Previous front desk or guest services experience in a hotel environment is preferred.
Familiarity with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS), such as Opera, will be an advantage.
Basic computer literacy, including MS Office, email, and PMS systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of professionalism and personal grooming.
Friendly, patient, and service-oriented approach.
Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Proactive attitude with a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Welcome all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure.
Perform accurate guest check-in and check-out procedures using the Property Management System (PMS).
Respond promptly and courteously to guest enquiries, requests, and complaints.
Escalate guest concerns to the appropriate department or manager when necessary.
Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to emails in a professional and timely manner.
Process guest payments and manage billing accurately.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of room availability, hotel facilities, amenities, promotions, and special offers.
Provide guests with information about local attractions, restaurants, activities, and services.
Liaise with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest requirements are attended to efficiently.
Ensure that the reception area remains clean, organised, professional, and presentable at all times.
Complete administrative duties, including filing, report preparation, and shift handovers.
Maintain accurate guest records and relevant documentation.
Follow all hotel safety, security, and operational procedures.
Uphold the hotel's service standards and contribute to a positive guest experience.
