Job Purpose
The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government, is inviting suitably qualified and competent individuals to apply for the position of Administration Clerk: Admin Support.
The successful candidates will be responsible for providing general administrative and clerical support services within the department.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or an equivalent qualification.
Recommendation: None.
Key Performance Areas
General Clerical Support
Record, organise, store, capture and retrieve correspondence and data.
Update registers and statistics.
Handle routine enquiries.
Make photocopies and receive or send facsimiles.
Distribute documents and packages to relevant stakeholders.
Maintain the filing system of the component.
Type letters and other correspondence when required.
Maintain incoming and outgoing document registers.
Supply Chain Administration
Provide supply chain clerical support within the component.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding the procurement of goods and services.
Obtain quotations and complete procurement forms for standard office items.
Control office stationery stock.
Maintain the asset register of the component/district offices.
Personnel Administration
Provide personnel administration clerical support.
Maintain the component's leave register.
Maintain personnel records.
Maintain the attendance register.
Arrange official travelling and accommodation.
Financial Administration
Capture and update expenditure within the component.
Check the correctness of subsistence and travel claims before submitting them to the manager for approval.
Handle telephone accounts and petty cash for the component.

R237,453 – R279,708 per annum (Salary Level 5).
