About the Opportunity

South Deep is recruiting a Warehouse Clerk to join its dynamic team of professionals. This is an opportunity to contribute your skills and experience while working in an environment focused on the development of its people, communities, stakeholders and business.

The Warehouse Clerk will provide both administrative and physical support for materials management activities against valid orders and reservations. Responsibilities include the receiving, recording, storage, transfer, stock taking and issuing of goods, as well as the loading and off-loading of materials.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ administrative or related experience in a stores or inventory management environment.
  • Experience using SAP and Materials Management systems.
  • Valid EB Driver’s Licence.
  • Must be declared medically fit for the position and working environment following a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre.
  • Must pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test and any other assessments that may be required to determine suitability for employment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in SHE campaigns and comply with all Safety, Health and Environment standards.
  • Perform duties according to established work instructions and SHE policies and processes to protect your own safety and the safety of others.
  • Perform basic warehouse duties under the guidance of a supervisor.
  • Ensure goods and supplies are correctly receipted, stored and maintained in accordance with company policies, procedures and processes.
  • Assist with basic packaging activities when required.
  • Perform basic inventory control activities, including verifying quantities, quality and availability against records.
  • Comply with established inventory control policies, procedures and processes.
  • Operate basic machinery and equipment for which you are appropriately licensed.
  • Perform routine tasks according to strict and detailed work instructions.
  • Follow established policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with external regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Perform duties within approved budgets and cost requirements.
  • Identify and report any cost or budget deviations.
