Job Description

As a Branch Administrator, you will play a vital role in keeping the laboratory and Care Centre running smoothly.

You will ensure that daily administrative activities are completed accurately, efficiently and on time, supporting specimen processing, quality service delivery and seamless branch operations.

Your work will contribute to a High Performance Culture by enabling dependable processes and supporting positive, professional interactions with patients and colleagues.

Role Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.

  • Minimum 1 year's administration experience.

  • Previous exposure to a pathology or medical environment would be advantageous.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Well-developed organisational skills.

  • Calm and professional manner.

  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and work according to established quality standards.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

Administration & Customer Service

  • Capture information and prepare documents accurately and timeously.

  • Maintain orderly records and handle routine correspondence.

  • Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional Care Centre experience.

  • Assist patients with requisition forms.

  • Capture patient details on the laboratory information system.

  • Conduct benefits checks.

  • Answer telephone calls and resolve routine enquiries.

  • Assist with account and billing-related queries.

  • Process card and cash payments.

  • Generate pro forma invoices when required.

Laboratory Support

  • Receive specimens and verify them against requested tests.

  • Label and batch specimens according to established protocols.

  • Prepare specimens correctly for onward processing.

  • Assist in ensuring that laboratory reports reach doctors or wards promptly.

  • Follow quality procedures to reduce errors, rework and delays.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain an efficient laboratory workflow.
