Job Description
Motus Autoworx, a leading company in the vehicle repair industry, is looking for an honest, trustworthy and responsible Polisher to join its Cape Town Speed Shop branch.
The successful candidate will be responsible for polishing vehicles after the painting process to achieve a high-quality, smooth and professional paint finish.
Minimum Experience
Advantageous: At least 2 years' experience in a paint shop environment.
Relevant vehicle polishing experience will be an advantage.
Minimum Qualification
Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
A valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver's licence.
Basic computer literacy.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
The ability to communicate effectively at the required workplace standard.
A strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Checking that paint is completely dry before beginning the polishing process.
Polishing vehicles evenly without damaging or wearing through the paint.
Inspecting vehicles for overspray and reporting issues to the Spray Painter or Production Manager.
Checking colour-match accuracy and reporting any concerns.
Removing all excess polish before vehicles are handed over to the assembly department.
Blowing dust from vehicles before handing them over to the wash bay.
Booking hand-held tools and equipment into the storeroom at the end of each shift.
Taking proper care of and safeguarding all tools and equipment.
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
