Job Description
The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for 4 General Workers (L2) positions within Sedibeng District Health Services.
Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining clean, hygienic and safe healthcare environments while assisting with waste management, cleaning and general duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Applicants must:
Be able to read and write.
No previous experience is required.
Applicants from Sedibeng District EPWP and Interns are eligible, including applicants whose EPWP contracts have ended.
Be willing to undergo continuous training and development.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
Keeping the property and surrounding areas clean at all times.
Removing medical and general waste.
Cleaning waste bins.
Flattening cardboard boxes.
Following healthcare waste management policies and infection-control requirements.
Operating heavy-duty cleaning machines.
Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment.
Complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
Performing other duties allocated by the supervisor.
Attending approved meetings and training sessions.
Participating in continuous training and development programmes.
Complying with the Performance Management and Development System, including contracting, quarterly reviews and final assessment.
