Job Description
The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for the position of Auxiliary Worker (Workshop) at Jubilee District Hospital.
The successful candidate will assist with workshop-related activities, stock handling, equipment management, basic repairs and general workshop duties.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Grade 10–12 or equivalent NQF Level 3–5 qualification.
At least 1 year of exposure to a hospital environment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of a workshop environment.
Ability to work with hand tools.
Experience in a technical workshop environment.
Knowledge of hospital departments will be an advantage.
A valid South African driver's licence will be an advantage.
Plumbing experience will be an added advantage.
Knowledge and awareness of Batho Pele principles.
Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Receiving, storing, assembling, packing and unpacking goods.
Registering goods received from stores.
Signing delivery notes when goods are received.
Issuing materials according to work orders.
Conducting stock-taking activities.
Packaging and labelling materials.
Maintaining racks and shelves.
Verifying tools and equipment upon delivery.
Maintaining accurate records.
Ensuring the cleanliness of the workshop and workshop-related equipment.
Assisting artisans with related tasks.
Performing basic repairs on non-life-support medical equipment.
Assisting with basic plumbing repairs.
