Job Description
RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energised and numerically focused Cashier within its Baking business unit.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accounting support and financial insight for the relevant customer principal/depot. The role involves keeping track of business-unit financial transactions and ensuring that transactions are accurately recorded, summarised and presented in accordance with standardised guidelines.
The position will be based in Durban and will report to the Commercial Financial Manager.
This is a Permanent position.
Minimum Requirements
Education
NQF Level 4/5 qualification.
Matric / Grade 12.
Experience
At least 1 year of experience in a credit control and cash-handling environment.
General Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Previous experience using JDE or another ERP system will be advantageous.
Duties & Responsibilities
Daily Receipts Processing
Receive and process credit notes and discounts, ensuring that all documents have been appropriately authorised.
Count all cash received from drivers under the view of the camera system.
Capture driver cash-ups on the relevant spreadsheet.
Follow up on any cash shortages and obtain reasons for driver shortages.
Report driver shortages within 24 hours.
Contact the driver or Driver Supervisor to identify reasons for short payments.
Receipt cash-ups into the drivers' JDE customer accounts.
Process authorised petty cash payments.
Issue petty cash for authorised casual wage expenditure.
General Processing
Maintain an accurate and organised filing system.
Order and issue company pre-printed stationery.
Cash Handling
Accurately count cash and reconcile daily banking.
Perform daily reconciliation of the cash vault machine.
Ensure that cash-handling records are accurate and up to date.
