Job Purpose

The Data Capturer will support the M&E Specialist with the capturing and consolidation of facility and partner data.

The successful candidate will be responsible for consolidating weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, maintaining accurate databases and ensuring that relevant data is received and captured within the required timeframes.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric.

  • A tertiary qualification will be advantageous.

  • Training in TIER.Net software and/or previous experience with TIER.Net data capturing and reporting.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with Department of Health data and M&E systems, from patient-record level through to DHIS level.

  • Experience in data collection and capturing.

  • Experience with data capturing or collection within the public health sector will be advantageous.

  • Familiarity with the public health sector and District Health System will be advantageous.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and isiXhosa.

  • Must have a clear criminal record.

Duties & Responsibilities

Data Capturing & Consolidation

  • Capture and consolidate facility data.

  • Ensure that all weekly, monthly and quarterly data is received, captured and consolidated.

  • Update databases with weekly, monthly and quarterly information.

  • Format and structure data according to specified requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data records.

  • Keep and maintain a register of individuals responsible for data submissions at each facility.

Data Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor data submissions and ensure that information is received within the required deadlines.

  • Notify the M&E Specialist and other relevant staff when data is not submitted on time.

  • Maintain records of all data submissions.

  • Assist with the preparation and consolidation of required reports.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Interact with colleagues and project management to support the achievement of project objectives.

  • Liaise with Department of Health and THC staff to capture relevant subject-related information.

  • Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely data collection.

Administration

  • Perform filing and general administrative duties as required.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

  • Provide administrative support to the M&E function where required.
