Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
ABET Level 3, Grade 9, or an equivalent qualification (authentic school report required).
Ability to read and write.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of Batho Pele Principles.
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Ability to rotate between different wards and hospital units.

Previous experience as a Porter.
Exposure to a Public Health Sector hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Escorting and accompanying patients to various hospital departments.
Transporting patients using wheelchairs and stretchers.
Loading and offloading patients from private vehicles.
Assisting nursing, medical, and allied healthcare staff when required.
Transporting deceased persons from wards to the mortuary.
Releasing deceased persons to relatives and undertakers in accordance with procedures.
Collecting, cleaning, and preparing wheelchairs and stretchers for use.
Transporting patient documents between hospital sections.
Reporting mortuary statistics to supervisors and managers when requested.
Recording mortuary temperatures on a daily basis.
Performing any other duties within the scope of the position as assigned by the supervisor.
