Job Purpose

The General Worker – Prover Infeed is responsible for achieving daily production targets while maintaining product quality, food safety, and operational efficiency. The role supports production activities, stock handling, housekeeping, and adherence to company procedures to ensure product integrity is never compromised.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain high-quality production standards at all times.
  • Execute daily production targets in line with operational requirements and bulk production plans.
  • Ensure product integrity and quality throughout the production process.
  • Maintain high housekeeping and hygiene standards within the production area.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support production efficiencies through proper execution of assigned tasks.
  • Assist with planned maintenance activities on assigned equipment and assets.
  • Complete required administrative duties and maintain accurate production records.
  • Comply with food safety, health, and safety requirements.
  • Stack crates safely and efficiently according to operational standards.
  • Pick stock accurately for production and distribution requirements.
  • Conduct damage repacks and handle products according to quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain scales and other production equipment where required.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate.

Experience

  • 1–2 years' experience in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions

  • Factory-based environment with exposure to heat, noise, and maize dust.
  • Pressurised production environment with strict deadlines.
  • Overtime may be required, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Standing, lifting, and manual handling activities may be required throughout shifts.
