Job Overview
Macsteel Tube & Pipe is seeking a hardworking, energetic, and enthusiastic General Assistant – Grade H to join its Production team in Elandsfontein, Gauteng. The successful candidate will assist with loading and off-loading stock, picking and packing materials, maintaining housekeeping standards, and supporting daily production operations.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates who are physically fit, willing to work overtime when required, and looking to build a career with one of South Africa's leading steel companies.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or Higher Certificate (NQF Level 4–5)
- Knowledge of Macsteel products will be an added advantage
- Ability and willingness to learn new products
- Good communication skills in English
- Physically fit and capable of loading and off-loading stock
- Able to climb onto trailers to hook and unhook materials safely
- Willing to multitask and work overtime when required
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and pack stock and materials into the correct storage locations.
- Assist the crane driver with slinging and preparing materials for delivery.
- Load and off-load vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Assist with stock-taking activities.
- Follow company work standards, policies, and procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including sweeping and keeping the work area clean.
- Ensure materials are correctly labelled for accurate identification.
- Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist on other machines when requested by the supervisor.
- Carry out reasonable and lawful instructions from management.
- Provide support with other production and warehouse duties as required.
- Be available to work outside normal working hours when operationally necessary.
