Job Purpose

Premier FMCG is looking for a dedicated Warehouse Checker to ensure accurate, safe, and compliant warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying stock movements, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting stock control processes, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Verification and Accuracy

  • Verify all picked, received, loaded, and staged stock.

  • Check quantities, batch numbers, expiry dates, pallet conditions, and documentation.

  • Prevent stock discrepancies, losses, and customer claims.

Inventory and Stock Control

  • Assist with stock counts and cycle counts.

  • Update bin cards accurately.

  • Maintain full stock traceability and ensure alignment between physical stock and system records.

Housekeeping and Audit Compliance

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.

  • Follow Premier FMCG housekeeping and clean-as-you-go standards.

  • Ensure audit readiness at all times.

Operational Compliance

  • Support adherence to operational procedures and company policies.

  • Monitor attendance and equipment inspections.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and daily operational targets.

Damage and Loss Prevention

  • Identify, record, and report damaged stock and pallets.

  • Ensure proper repacking, disposal, and accountability procedures.

  • Provide photographic evidence when required.

Health, Safety and Food Safety

  • Follow occupational health and safety regulations.

  • Adhere to SHE and food safety requirements.

  • Ensure proper stock rotation, allergen control, hygiene standards, and stacking procedures.

Documentation and Traceability

  • Complete all warehouse documentation accurately and on time.

  • Process receiving documents, picking slips, loading records, and CHEP pallet transactions.

  • Ensure all records are properly signed and filed.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

Experience

  • 2–3 years’ experience as a Picker or similar warehouse role in an FMCG environment.

  • Warehouse-related learnership or qualification will be advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent numerical and checking skills.

  • Ability to identify stock discrepancies, damages, and variances.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to escalate issues promptly and effectively.
