About Us
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Food Service Assistant to join our catering team within a rehabilitation facility. The role plays an important part in patient recovery by ensuring that meals are prepared, served, and delivered safely, respectfully, and on time.
You will work closely with kitchen staff and clinical teams to support the nutritional and wellbeing needs of patients throughout their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation and meal service
- Serve meals to patients in dining areas and wards
- Support special dietary requirements and portion control as instructed
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety
- Wash dishes and ensure kitchen and dining areas are clean and organised
- Follow infection control, health, and safety procedures at all times
- Interact with patients in a respectful, caring, and professional manner
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Previous experience in food service, healthcare catering, or hospitality (advantageous)
Skills and Competencies
- Caring, patient-centred attitude
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Reliable, organised, and able to follow instructions accurately
- Willingness to undergo background checks and required training
