Purpose of the Role:
To develop and maintain accurate, short-term weekly mine production schedules aligned with operational requirements, safety standards, and long-term planning goals. This role supports continuous ore flow, optimal blending, and efficient resource deployment through scenario modelling and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up and maintain mine scheduling software to meet stakeholder needs

Liaise with MAD engineers and stakeholders to confirm planning assumptions

Run schedule scenarios to meet production, quality, and safety targets

Use current geology, blasting, and design data in planning
-
Factor in ore flow, crushing, blending, and 3-month plan alignment
-
Improve short-term planning processes to minimize last-minute changes
-
Ensure plans comply with the Mine Health & Safety Act and site regulations

Participate in reconciliation processes

Support implementation of the Anglo Operating Model in mine planning

Promote a high-performance, inclusive planning culture

Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulations and permits
Minimum Qualifications:

National Diploma in Mining or
-
B.Eng. Mining / B.Sc. Mining
Deswik mine planning software experience is highly advantageous.
Experience and Skills:
-
3 to 5 years of operational mining experience
-
3 to 5 years in mine planning
-
Strong understanding of interdisciplinary planning (Survey, Rock Engineering, etc.)

Proficiency in mine design and scheduling software (Deswik required)

Competence in reporting, analysis, and planning systems

Ability to relate mine plans to financial outcomes

Comfortable working with data and cross-functional teams
