Job Purpose

To perform semi-skilled tasks that support electricians during installation, repair, and maintenance work in HV substations and related infrastructure.

Key Responsibility Areas

Perform general tasks such as excavation, reinstatement, and operating handheld tools
Wash 11kV, 33kV, 132kV, and 275kV equipment using hand/spray washing methods in live yards under supervision
Open tanks, remove and clean components, replace parts, and top up insulating oil under direction
Manage and organize tools and specialized equipment for daily tasks
Handle coupling, decoupling, and storage of trailers, compressors, and other machinery
Safely transport and connect gas bottles up to 50 kg

Essential Requirements

Appropriate level of secondary education
Minimum of 6 months’ experience in electrical construction or maintenance work

Preferred Requirements

1 year of relevant experience in high-voltage (HV) electrical construction or maintenance work

Salary: R162,855.60 – R211,405.80 per annum
