Role Purpose:

The Canteen Operator performs semi-skilled tasks under the supervision of the Canteen Supervisor, ensuring efficient and quality service in the canteen.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow verbal and simple written instructions for food preparation and canteen tasks.

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in food prep and canteen areas.

  • Operate and monitor canteen equipment to ensure it is functional.

  • Prepare food for employees to required standards.

  • Coordinate tasks with team members and report issues to the supervisor.

  • Assist with material and ingredient requirements.

  • Participate in meetings and complete administrative duties accurately.

  • Identify and suggest improvements for canteen operations.

  • Communicate effectively with team members.

  • Ensure all tools and materials needed are available.

  • Promote and apply safety and health standards at all times.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Matric certificate (high school completion)

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in canteen operations and cleaning.
