Job Description
RCL Foods is currently recruiting a Pump Attendant to join its Transport team based in Pretoria West. The successful candidate will be responsible for refuelling company vehicles, maintaining accurate fuel records, monitoring fuel stock levels, and ensuring that all fuel-bay operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
This role requires a reliable and safety-conscious individual with a valid driver's licence and strong attention to detail.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric.
Valid Code 10 driver's licence or higher.
Ability to work independently and responsibly.
Good record-keeping and communication skills.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Fuel Management
Fill company trucks, LDVs, and other vehicles with fuel as required.
Ensure vehicles are fuelled to the correct level.
Check that fuel caps are properly secured after refuelling.
Monitor fuel stock and prevent fuel losses.
Vehicle and Fuel-Bay Operations
Move and park company vehicles when required.
Take and record opening fuel tank dip readings daily.
Take and record closing fuel tank dip readings at the end of each shift.
Control and safeguard keys for fuel pumps, fuel tanks, and refuelling equipment.
Keep fuel pumps locked when leaving the fuel-bay area.
Report any fuel leaks or equipment faults to the Transport Workshop immediately.
Vehicle Checks
Check vehicle fluid levels, including:
Engine coolant
Engine oil
Report any abnormalities or maintenance issues.
Safety and Housekeeping
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the fuel-bay area.
Adhere to all fuel handling and workplace safety procedures.
Prevent fuel spills and ensure a safe working environment.
Administration
Accurately record all fuel issued to company vehicles.
Complete fuel sheets and submit them daily to the Transport Clerk at the Pretoria Bakery.
Ensure all fuel records are accurate and submitted on time.
