Job Level and Remuneration

Job Level: T7
Salary Scale: R254,808.00 – R353,892.00 per annum
Estimated Total Remuneration Package: R357,290.00 – R483,405.00 per annum

Job Purpose

To transport passengers and commuters using the City’s public transport infrastructure, ensuring safety, punctuality, and compliance with traffic regulations.

Application Requirements

• Minimum of Grade 10

• Relevant experience driving heavy vehicles

• A valid Code C, EC1 (04), EC, or C1 (04) driver’s license

• A valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)

• No criminal record

• Physically fit and in good health

• Willing and able to work shifts and overtime

Primary Functions

• Ensure the safe and reliable transportation of passengers

• Operate the Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system, ensuring passengers tap in and out

• Follow designated bus routes and schedules or other instructions

• Perform additional special duties as needed

• Comply with all traffic rules and laws, including the National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996)

• Maintain sound knowledge of the National Road Traffic Act and other relevant regulations
