Remuneration: R12 809.74 per month (Basic salary, excluding benefits)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 10 (NQF Level 2)

  • Between 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in cash handling and customer care

  • Preference will be given to City of Johannesburg residents (proof of residence required)

  • Experience in high-pressure public service environments will be an added advantage


Primary Purpose of the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing sales, customer care, stakeholder engagement, and other station-related duties to ensure professional and efficient delivery of Rea Vaya services that meet and exceed customer expectations.


Key Performance Areas:

  • Conduct pre-shift station inspections to ensure operational readiness

  • Perform cash float and stock reconciliations before each shift

  • Handle card sales and trip top-up transactions in accordance with policies and procedures

  • Process sales-related banking transactions accurately

  • Provide responsive and courteous customer service

  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders

  • Monitor and manage the use of allocated resources and assets

  • Support inventory, financial control, and administrative reporting

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Basic to intermediate numeracy

  • Effective interpersonal and customer care abilities

  • Capability to handle customer queries promptly and accurately

Core Competencies:

  • Understanding of cash/sales environments

  • Familiarity with AFC Point of Sale systems

  • Basic customer service knowledge

  • Ability to work in a team, uphold values, and focus on quality

  • Demonstrated commitment to Batho Pele principles and public service ethics
