Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and legally compliant working environment for all employees

  • Ensure staff are fully informed about health and safety legislation requirements

  • Investigate and report all workplace incidents and vehicle accidents

  • Assist with the development of HIRA, SOPs, and PTOs

  • Perform internal audits and prepare for SHEQ assurance and ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)

  • Conduct site inspections and ensure legislative and company SHEQ compliance

  • Use Cura system for incident reporting and action management

  • Recommend and verify corrective actions for any non-conformances

  • Monitor contractor SHEQ compliance

  • Participate in SHEQ meetings and complete all required administrative tasks with proper recordkeeping


Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 (Matric), preferably with a technical background

  • National Diploma in SHEQ Management or equivalent (advantageous)

  • SAMTRAC, COMSOC 1 & 2, or equivalent certifications

  • Valid Code B Driver’s License

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)


Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in health and safety management

  • Strong understanding of OHS legislation and SHEQ systems

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Assertiveness and decision-making ability

  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and work well with diverse teams

  • Investigative orientation and attention to detail
