Role Purpose

To provide effective and professional security services that safeguard company assets, employees, contractors, and facilities. The role includes operational oversight of security personnel and systems to ensure compliance with security standards and legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee deployment and duties of security personnel
Ensure incidents are reported and properly investigated
Maintain high ethical and confidentiality standards
Monitor functionality of all security systems and infrastructure
(e.g., CCTV, control room, armed response, drones, access control)
Conduct regular inspections of guardhouses, security staff, and equipment
Communicate safety information and operational updates to security teams
Ensure compliance with safety, risk assessments, and legislation
Conduct daily parades and inspections

Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF level 4)
National Advanced Certificate (2 years)
PSIRA Grade B registration
Firearm competency certificate (valid)
Minimum 3 years uninterrupted service in a similar security role
Experience with CCTV, alarms, and security systems
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation:
- Criminal Procedures Act
- Security Officers Act
- Law of Evidence
- Mine Health and Safety Act
- Labour Law
Strong report writing and computer literacy
Valid driver’s license
Must obtain or hold a valid Certificate of Fitness

Advantageous Qualifications & Experience

Studying towards a Security-related National Diploma (NQF 7)
Experience leading investigations and teams in the mining sector
Safety training (e.g., S1 course)
Deep understanding of security best practices and policies
