Main Purpose of the Job
To respond to emergency calls and provide basic life support medical care within the Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA) scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure operational readiness for emergency response, including equipment and vehicle checks

Administer basic medical care and transport patients according to scope of practice

Promote a professional image of ER24 through excellent service and community engagement
Education Requirements
Essential: Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate
Desired: Training in Clinical Practice Guidelines as published by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). If not yet completed, this training must be completed during probation if the application is successful.
Experience Requirements
Minimum: 6 months to 1 year of experience in road-based Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred: 2 years of road-based BLS experience
Skills and Knowledge Required

Knowledge of local facilities, travel routes, and demographics

Understanding of HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice

Familiarity with emergency medical services environments and best practices

Ability to complete Patient Report Forms accurately

Proficiency in written and verbal English communication
