Role Overview:
The Learning and Development Specialist at RCL Foods is a strategic and operational role focused on designing, delivering, and managing leadership and professional skills development academies. Reporting directly to the Group Learning and Development, EE and B-BBEE Transformation Executive, this role leads the creation and execution of bespoke leadership programs and functional capability-building initiatives across the organization.
The role also plays a pivotal part in driving Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) capability programs to foster an equitable, psychologically safe workplace.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Human Resource Management or Education

Valid Code EB driver’s license
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in learning and development, including course design, facilitation, and adult education aligned to competency frameworks
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Professional Skills Development

Strategically develop and align RCL’s Leadership Development Academy
-
Guide teams delivering Professional Skills Academies for functional capability building
-
Build partnerships with business schools and learning institutions for quality program delivery

Develop and sustain functional skills dictionaries aligned with performance management and career pathing

Engage senior leadership to ensure learning aligns with business needs
Diversity and Inclusivity (D&I) Capability Building

Collaborate with the D&I function to design and implement D&I capability frameworks and interventions

Lead D&I facilitator training, awareness courses, and leadership development programs focused on diversity
-
Foster a psychologically safe and equitable workplace through continuous learning initiatives
Divisional Learning Support and Advisory

Advise senior leadership and HR on learning initiatives that boost engagement and performance

Conduct training needs analyses aligned with individual development plans (IDPs)
-
Recommend development interventions based on 70/20/10 blended learning principles
Technical Expertise and Budget Management

Facilitate learning sessions with strong adult education and facilitation skills

Provide strategic learning insights to divisional HR teams and external bodies

Manage the budget for leadership, professional skills development, and D&I initiatives
