Job Purpose
The Route Compliance Clerk is responsible for ensuring route compliance, conducting daily debriefs, and maintaining fleet data using the Fleet Gallery system. The role involves driver education, route performance analysis, and support in operational logistics issues to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Minimum Requirements

Matric (Grade 12)

Valid driver’s license

Minimum 3 years’ experience in the food manufacturing environment

Knowledge of distribution and logistics
Key Duties and Responsibilities
-
Manage GPSTS vehicle units, Garmin devices, and system logins daily
-
Analyze and report on actual vs GPS kilometers, and route performance
-
Monitor and reduce overtime through time-on-route tracking
-
Identify and reduce multiple visits and route inefficiencies

Report daily on deviations using the Info Transport and Sales File
-
Monitor logistics metrics: speeding, harsh braking, route deviations, pre-trip inspections

Perform route analysis and design, including monthly optimization and splitting

Track vehicle utilization and ensure maximum operational efficiency

Assess route viability (loaves per km, cost per km [CPK], cost per loaf [CPL])

Conduct disciplinary investigations relating to driver compliance and performance

Update month-end files with technical data and route performance metrics

Monitor truck departure times and resolve deviations

Design routing for Pretoria Bakery and regional depots

Coordinate vehicle availability with the Transport Department

Support the Distribution Manager with operational problem-solving and logistics planning
