Purpose of the Role
To undergo both theoretical and practical training to achieve technical competency required for an Engineering Technician in the aviation sector.
Key Responsibilities
-
Learn and perform maintenance on aviation communication, navigation, and surveillance systems.
-
Conduct maintenance of site infrastructure (e.g., roads, fences, antenna masts, power supply, and buildings).
-
Achieve relevant equipment competencies according to the Technical Skills Matrix.
-
Understand and apply Service Level Agreements.
-
Perform corrective maintenance and diagnostics down to Line Replacement Unit (LRU) level.
-
Use supervisor positions and RCMMS for operator-level restoration.
-
Develop skills in performance analysis using maintenance tools.
-
Draft technical reports when required.

Gain familiarity with ATNS ISO procedures and civil aviation regulations (SACAA and ICAO).

Become proficient in supporting all systems at the designated centre.

Understand ATNS centre and shift requirements as well as regional airspace environments.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
-
S4 National Diploma in Light Current Electronic Engineering or equivalent
Experience

Completion of the prescribed Technical Learnership at the ATNS Aviation Training Academy
Additional Advantage

ACSA AVOP certification (preferred)

Valid Code 8 driver’s license
