Purpose of the Role:

To accurately receive, manage, and control stock in a retail environment, ensuring goods are efficiently processed between the delivery point, storeroom, trading floor, and suppliers. The role requires strong inventory management skills and attention to detail, as well as the physical ability to manage heavy stock.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately receive goods and verify against invoices
Capture invoices timeously and correctly into the system
Check quantities, conditions, and variants of goods received
Process returns to suppliers following SOPs
Maintain an orderly and clean stockroom
Manage and monitor high-risk stock
Identify and report stock discrepancies
Return damaged/unordered goods and issue proper credit notes
Assist with offloading heavy pallets and boxes (labour-intensive)
Support additional departments based on operational needs

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Grade 12 / Matric (Essential)

Experience:

At least 1+ year of relevant experience in retail/FMCG as a stock/inventory controller

Skills & Knowledge:

Strong understanding of retail/FMCG operations and stock management principles
SAP knowledge (advantageous)
MS Excel, Word, Office 365 proficiency
Strong numeracy, communication, and organizational skills
Problem-solving and time management abilities
Ability to lift heavy stock and perform physically demanding tasks
