Purpose of the Role

The GRV Clerk (Goods Receiving Voucher Clerk) is responsible for accurately processing goods received into the warehouse, checking them against orders, documenting discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory records.


Key Responsibilities

  • Receive POD book and invoices from supplier trucks

  • Inspect delivered goods (quantity, weight, condition)

  • Sign POD after verification and note discrepancies

  • Perform blind checks against invoices; request supervisor checks for variances

  • Log deliveries in Truck Register (Excel)

  • Maintain all delivery documents (invoices, delivery notes, GRVs)

  • Match invoices with purchase orders

  • Raise claims for shortages, damages, or price differences

  • Complete the full GRV capturing process in system

  • Confirm and update selling prices with supervisor

  • Support stock control and assist with stocktakes

  • Stay informed about new suppliers and stock items


Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric certificate or equivalent

  • At least 1 year’s experience in a similar role (FMCG industry preferred)

  • Knowledge of the Value Chain environment is an advantage

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

  • Friendly, helpful, confident, yet humble team player

  • Able to work in a fast-paced, competitive environment

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Detail-oriented with strong accuracy

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
