Job Overview
Premier FMCG is looking for a Wage Clerk to join the Bakery Admin team at Waltloo Bakery. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring compliance with labour laws and company policies. This role also supports payroll operations at Temba Depot and Rustenburg Depot.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately by capturing employee data, verifying attendance records, and running payroll cycles on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, tax regulations, and statutory deductions.
- Provide payroll support by addressing employee inquiries and explaining payroll policies.
- Maintain payroll records securely and generate reports for management.
- Enhance payroll processes by identifying areas for improvement and assisting in system upgrades.
- Reconcile third-party payments to ensure timely and accurate payments in line with financial records.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- Diploma in Payroll Administration, Finance, HR, or a related field.
- Certified Payroll Professional (SAPA) – Advantageous.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Experience:
- 3–5 years’ experience in payroll administration.
- Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Sage, PaySpace).
- 1–2 years’ knowledge of South African payroll legislation.
Key Competencies
- Understanding of statutory payroll requirements (e.g., tax, UIF, SDL).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
