Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests courteously and ensure a welcoming environment.
  • Be available to handle problems or complaints promptly.
  • Ensure the front-of-house area is maintained to company standards.
  • Liaise effectively between front-of-house and back-of-house departments.
  • Ensure speedy and efficient service delivery.
  • Handle all inquiries and messages with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Keep the Front of House areas clean and well-maintained at all times.
  • Conduct regular checks for maintenance or repairs in Front of House areas and address issues without delay.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the Front of House, interacting with guests and staff.
  • Monitor industry trends and suggest improvements.


Skills & Competencies

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the canteen’s area.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service, with at least three years of experience in front-of-house operations.
  • Strong basic math skills and experience with cash registers or POS systems.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours) and perform tasks involving reaching, bending, and stooping.
  • Stamina to work 45-50 hours per week.


Qualifications

  •  National Senior Certificate
