Learnership Description

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is offering an opportunity for two Learners: Claims in Pretoria, Gauteng.

The RAF is committed to empowering South African youth through skills development and workplace learning opportunities. The Claims Learnership Programme provides unemployed young people with the opportunity to gain practical workplace experience and develop claims-related skills over a period of 12 months.

The programme is aimed specifically at applicants who have completed Matric (Grade 12) and are between the ages of 18 and 23 years.

As part of the selection process, verification checks will be conducted to confirm applicants' employment history and establish whether they have previously been employed in South Africa.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Have completed Grade 12 / Matric.

  • Be between 18 and 23 years old.

  • Be unemployed.

  • Never have been employed in the field of the advertised learnership.

  • Never have participated in a learnership programme in the relevant field previously.

  • Not have previously served as a learner.

  • Provide the required supporting documentation.

  • Be willing to undergo security vetting.

Qualifications & Documents Required

Applicants must submit:

  • Certified copy of their Grade 12 / Matric certificate.

  • Certified copy of their Identity Document.

  • A short CV.

  • A motivational letter explaining why they should be considered for the learnership.

The CV and motivational letter combined must not exceed 3 pages.

Work-Based Learning

During the 12-month learnership, workplace exposure may include:

Claims & File Administration

  • Receive and record new files from the Correspondence Department.

  • Conduct pre-assessment of new files.

  • Receive files from the pre-assessment team.

  • Prepare files for scanning.

  • Scan documents and files.

  • Index files.

  • Upload information.

  • Prepare files for storage.

  • Register new files.

  • Update and correct registration information.

  • Conduct verification and validation of files to ensure compliance.

  • Issue letters of compliance or non-compliance.

The successful learners should demonstrate:

  • Written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Desire and potential to learn.

  • Self-motivation.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks according to operational requirements.

Remuneration

Successful learners will receive a monthly stipend.

The job posting indicates a salary amount of R54 000.00.
